3. Batam Community Service Trip Project
Date/Day: 2-4 April 2010, Friday-Sunday
No. of volunteers needed: 20

We are organizing another Batam Community Service Trip, a short visit of 3 days 2 nights during the Good Friday holidays which is a long weekend. This short visit should be a mix of leisure and community service to a children's home.

More details will be provided after the Home recee on 31 January, Sunday.

We are targeting the 2nd children's home (that doesnt have an official Home name) that the previous batch saw during the last trip, as it seemed to be in a poorer condition. The recee will be used to determine the childrens' profile (age, shoe sizes, etc.) as well as the exact areas that they will need most help in e.g. servicing, painting, improving sleeping conditions, toys, clothes, fans, stationery, electricity, sports equipment, etc.

Do try to keep aside the items you would like to give away, especially during your own chinese new year spring cleaning!

Drop us a msg via the comment box or do reserve the weekend on your calendar first if you need time to consider or ask your buddies.

You may visit the project link to look at photos and writeups of our previous Batam Trip 2009. You can also visit http://leosrcfundraising.blogspot.com/2010/01/introduction.html for a fund-raising online portal set up for Project Batam.

Members confirmed attending are: Danlin, Cliff, Sokling, Yizhen, Yuan Jin and Jeremy.
